New User Access

New Primary Investigators (PI)

If you are a new PI to UTSA and do not have an iLab account, please refer to the information below.

  • Internal PI Group/Lab – A Group/Lab account is auto-generated for all internal PIs with a valid Project ID (speedtype) for sponsored projects. First-time users can simply login/register using their myUTSA ID (abc123) credentials. Contact iLab@utsa.edu if your fund information is missing or not available in our system.

  • External PI Group/Lab (UT System/In-Network, Higher-Ed/Non-Profit, Commercial/Industry) – Please review and sign the UTSA Service Agreement in order to create or affiliate an external iLab account with UTSA. Each Institution/Company must sign this agreement before work can be performed by/for the requesting PI. Any modifications or amendments to this agreement is a "request for contract" and will enter a negotiation workflow with our Business Contracts Office. Please submit all signed agreements or request for contract to ORIS@utsa.edu.

 Non-PI Users

If you are a user performing research under a PI with an exiting iLab account, please refer to the information below.

UTSA Customers:

    1. Select login/register button to top right of the screen and login using your myUTSA ID (abc123) credentials.
    2. You will be directed to an iLab Registration page where you will need to select your PI Group/Lab account and verify your contact information.
    3. Once your registration has been submitted, the PI or Lab Manager will receive a notification that you have requested a membership to their Group/Lab. They will need to approve your membership and assign any Project IDs or Cost Centers before you can use core facility resources. Please contact your PI or their designated Lab Manger to accept your membership.

Non-UTSA Customers:

    1. Complete the registration form on the https://utsa.corefacilities.org/account/604/signup.
    2. Receive a Welcome Email from iLab (typically within one business day) with login credentials.
    3. Use login credentials to create account.

**All external users must have a UTSA Service Agreement signed by their Institution/Company before any work may be performed.
